I am a fun loving self-confessed coffee, chocolate and iPhone aholic devoted to my three beautiful and well photographed children, who consistently provide me with inspiration and joy…..and even laugh at my bad jokes.

From the age of 5 (when I got my first camera for Christmas) I have been passionate about photography, a passion that is reflected in my commitment to my work. This combined with my love of people and a relaxed, approachable style means I am able to help my clients feel at ease (I have a particular dislike of being photographed so know how important this is).

I have been in the business for nearly 15 years. After studying photography at school I started my career as an assistant to a prominent wedding photographer which inspired me to complete a course through the New York Institute of Photographers. Starting Shannon Godfrey Photography in 2005 has allowed me to focus my business in areas I particularly love – weddings and children’s portraits and while this is my speciality I am equally happy in other fields such as product shoots and business profile shots.

Based on Auckland’s North Shore, I am surrounded by stunning beaches that offer numerous outdoor opportunities for photo shoots. I am more than happy to suggest locations or work in with your own personal location.

I want my photographs to be timeless, something you can look at in 20 years time and still think “I love that photograph”. For me it is about capturing special moments in a combination of un-posed fun shots and natural poses.

I take pride in producing a professional package for my clients whilst keeping my pricing affordable. I would love to help capture your special memories, so please take a look at my portfolio, give me a call and see if I am the right photographer for you.

"My wife and I were extremely pleased with our wedding photos taken by Shannon. She, along with her assistant, were professional and worked well with all our guests to ensure we got what we wanted. Their friendly approach and creativity made our day relaxed and fun. We have since used Shannon for a family sitting and again her creativity shone through when it comes to working with young children and her patience made the whole process an absolute joy. We would have no hesitation recommending Shannon for anyone wanting an excellent photographer." Tony

"My husband and I recently booked Shannon as the photographer for our wedding. Shannon was wonderful to work with in advance and on the day itself. Always with a smile on her face nothing was ever a problem. She even came all the way to Mangawhai for our rehearsal! The photos are absolutely stunning and I would have no hesitation in recommending her." Rose

"My wife and I found Shannon to be very professional and creative. She captured many fantastic photos of our special day making good use of the surrounds and the natural backdrops of our wedding location. She also controlled the crowds well during some of the set group shots which helped to ensure the right photos with the right people were taken. Several friends and family members have since commented favourably on the photography and have made further enquiries about her services. I recommend Shannon as a photographer without hesitation." Terryn

“Thanks so much for yesterday, I was a bit apprehensive as I don’t find it easy getting photos taken, but it was so fun with you” Jennifer
